The Marovasa story
began by chance.
Twenty years ago French film producer Charles Gassot stumbled across the Marovasa peninsula while exploring Madagascar for potential film locations. He instantly fell in love with Moramba Bay and its iconic tsingy islands adorned with Baobabs Amoureux (Baobabs in Love). For months he explored the undiscovered region before finally breaking ground. Charles spent the next 10 years developing the property to fulfill his vision. The house was and will always remain a sanctuary of natural elegance, centered around the wellbeing of its guests.
In 2016, Charles passed his dream on and we are proud to maintain its heritage. Today, Marovasa belongs to us: a small group of partners from New York, London, Cape Town, Cyprus and Madagascar. It is a treasure we want to share with friends and others who seek exclusivity and privacy. Come and experience a true paradise like no other.
